Steven Lombardi

 

Steven Lombardi, a licensed Architect in California, received his Bachelor of Architecture from SCI-Arc  Southern California Institute of Architecture.

Steven has advanced the art of architecture and design in poetic yet pragmatic ways across a broad spectrum of disciplines, scales and geographic locations. His explorations include urban landscape, housing, sculpture, theater and energy. His multidisciplinary practice reflects his sustainable approach to design with a fundamental focus on light and its impact emotionally, functionally and sculpturally. Filicudara, by Steven, was the first candle fixture produced by Artemide in Milan, an Italian based lighting company.

SLA work has been widely exhibited, published and awarded in the United States, Canada, Europe and Asia. He is the recipient of the Architectural League of New York Award for Lighting, a Progressive Architecture Award for Research, the Young Architect Award, also from Progressive Architecture, and a citation award from the  North American Program for  the Wood Design Awards. The AIA has awarded Steven Merits and Citations and awards in lighting, theater design, interiors and architecture over a span of 20 years. Living West, Housing 101, Quaderns, ID magazine, Architecture, Dwell, Architectural Record, International Design Yearbook and 2A Architecture & Art are just a few of his publications printed in  New York, Barcelona, Milan, Dubai, Hong Kong and Los Angeles. SLA Homes have been on the Dwell Home Tour in San Diego for 2 consecutive years and his work has been on display at Art San Diego.
